This is the second edition of the FotoGrafia - Baume & Mercier International Award, the result of an alliance between Zoneattive and Baume & Mercier, and addressed with no restrictions at all professional photographers.
The Swiss watch-making company Baume & Mercier, created in 1830, always with the one and only objective of creating watches of the highest possible quality, confirms photography as a means of expression.
Inspired by this brand name’s values of proximity, authenticity and creativity, the theme chosen for this second edition is "My time each day”, providing photographers with an opportunity to portray the relationship with time through reiterated and minute daily events, simultaneously exceptional in their individual uniqueness.
The winner of this award will be commissioned to create the project presented and to produce an exhibition for the next edition of FotoGrafia, also including a monographic catalogue.

Photography is confirmed as an art accessible to everyone, extraordinarily contemporary and constantly evolving. Baume & Mercier has therefore chosen to assume the position of a watch-making company in step with the times and wishing to capture memories of today and of the future.

 

The winner of the first edition of the Prize is Lucia Nimcova and she will be exhibited this year at Palazzo delle Esposizioni. The winner of the second edition will be announced during the opening of the Festival, on April 3rd. The jury this year includes Marco Delogu, Laura Serani (Deleguée generale of the next Mois de la Photo à Paris), Massimiliano Tonelli (Exibart), Tim Davis (UK) Photographer, Olivier Spillebout (Artistic Director Transphotographiques, Lille).
